The SkinVideo adult affiliate program appears to have closed. Although the adult site is still up and running, affiliates cannot login to their webmasters area.
We almost decided not to review the SkinVideo adult affiliate program. Although the programs tour is very attractive (albeit light on details), and the webmasters area at first appears to include links to a plethora of promotional tools, unfortunately things went downhill from there pretty fast. Of the promotional tools that we check first – typically FLVs, galleries, and RSS feeds for some indication of the programs promo update schedule – two of the three were essentially non-existent. Next, we checked the sites themselves. Though the program appears to offer three sites, one of those is currently parked. Thinking the program was perhaps dead, we sent an email while we continued to browse the sites and tools – if we didn’t get a response, that would be that. Fortunately, we got a reply, and what we saw in the interim convinced us that the SkinVideo program did hold some promise.

Summary
As hinted at above, the SkinVideo program does not offer any hosted galleries or RSS feeds, despite there being links for generating them in the webmasters area. While affiliates can generate embedded flash videos for the eponymous Skin Video site, it is also worth noting that those appear to have stopped updating towards the end of 2010. However, perusing the actual site, it appears as if the site content does continue to update. This is especially promising as the program offers a ‘custom link wizard’ for affiliates to generate their own deep links to on-site pages. And the Skin Video site has A LOT of pages to choose from, covering a wide range of adult niches and content, though none of it exclusive. A link wizard is also available for generating deep links for the Amateur Hi Def site, though it should be mentioned that it will be of less benefit as there is considerably less site depth from which to choose. In addition to those tools already mentioned, and banners of course, there are also a variety of flash whatsits and doodads such as chat boxes, carousels, page peels and the like.
We assume that payments are made exclusively by check as there does not appear to be anyplace to specify any other method. While US affiliates may appreciate the very low payment minimum of just $25, affiliates abroad in areas where there are significant fees associated with cashing checks can certainly raise that amount to something more to their liking.
While SkinVideo is not a bad program per se, promoting affiliates will have to do a little leg work to find the content they wish to promote then generate the links to promote that content. While we are rather fond of affiliates having that level of control, if we had our druthers we would also like to see some means of staying apprised of the latest site updates. Affiliates who prefer to hand pick the content they promote, however, will find lots of niches and on-site content with which to work.
