The signup – and other – links on the PinkVelvetVault tour all return the main tour page. In other words, new affiliates cannot sign up. Additionally, at least one site gets redirected and at least a couple others do not having working join pages. All in all, it seems like they are done.

It is worth noting that this is the only site to include a cross-sale on it’s signup page, though it is unchecked.

Summary

Many affiliates feel that programs that voluntarily relinquish any direct influence over stats and payments are due some added trust. Unfortunately, like most CCBill program sites the tracking for the PinkVelvetVault sites is accomplished entirely by cookies and the affiliates ID is dropped from the URL when referred visitors arrive on site. Why affiliates should take note of this is that if a visitor arrives on site and bookmarks the page to return later – possibly to purchase a membership, the affiliate will only be credited with the sale if the cookie is still present and active on the visitors device. For such sites, we typically recommend affiliates limit their linking to galleries – which contain the affiliates ID in the URL and pass it along every time, as well as consider using nofollow link attributes when linking to the sites directly.
